Admitted as a solicitor in 1994, John has wide-ranging experience from being a partner in a national firm of solicitors, head of legal for a PLC to varied roles as in-house general counsel. Having spent a decade working in the Middle East, John has substantial international experience. His practice covers a range of sectors with a focus on commercial, employment, and transactional and regulatory matters. In recent years John has been general counsel for an international cosmetics company and subsequently one of the largest cloud businesses in the Middle East. Having returned to the UK in 2023, John retains involvement with international clients. His experience also includes wider areas of compliance, business fraud (including sanctions and related investigations), sports law, and professional conduct matters.

 Hobbies & Interests

John is keen on personal fitness with a passion for trekking in the hills and mountains. In a past life, John was a keen cricket and rugby player and spent a decade as a Judicial Officer for World Rugby and latterly as Deputy Chairman of the Asia Rugby Disciplinary Panel. In recent years, John has taken up rowing.

John is the husband of our beloved, partner and colleague the late Sharon Stamper.
